Kindle 2: Amazon's New Wireless Reading Device (Latest Generation)

Say Hello to The New Kindle

Amazon.com is introducing Amazon Kindle 2, the next generation wireless reading device. With a sleek and thin design that makes Kindle 2 as thin as a typical magazine and lighter than a paperpack, the new Kindle has seven times more storage and now holds over 1,500 books. It has a longer battery life and faster page turns. An advanced display provides even crisper images and clearer text for an improved book-like reading experience. And Kindle 2 even reads to you, with “Read to Me”, our new Text to Speech feature.

With Kindle 2, Amazon.com kept everything readers love about the original Kindle—the convenience of reading what you want, when you want it, the immediacy of getting a book wirelessly delivered in less than 60 seconds, and Kindle’s ability to “disappear” in your hands so you can get lost in the author’s words. The Kindle Store has over 230,000 ebooks available.

Here is a learning video that teaches how to use the new Kindle 2.

Amazon.com is planning to have every book ever printed, in any language, all available in under 60 seconds on Kindle. Emily the CareBot (TM)

I mentioned yesterday on one of my blogs that I would post learning videos and and if you have some to submit them to me. Here is one from a website submitted by Paul A. Ebeling, Jr. The video is from one of the companies featured on stockbully.com. It is quite interesting.

Do you have a learning video? Send to me if it is a training video or one that teaches "how-to" on any subject matter. Do not send videos that are only ads or promo videos.

Google Lattitude Explained

Google just released an upgrade to Google Maps which lets you track the specific location of your employees, family or friends. The service, called Google Lattitude, will also let you contact them by way of SMS, Gmail, or Google Talk. Google Lattitude could have a wide range of uses if you own a business, e.g. you can know exactly where your delivery truck is at; see if your salespeople are actually selling or at the coffee shop. For friends or family members, you can see where your teenager is at or know if she/he made it through the snowstorm or their flight landed safely.

There is some concern about the "Big Brother" syndrome. Google is quick to point out that the service is strictly "Opt In" so no one can be tracked that doesn't want to be tracked.

Veggie Love - PETA's Banned Super Bowl Ad

PETA's ad—which features a bevy of beauties who are powerless to resist the temptation of veggie love—was deemed too hot for the Super Bowl. NBC rejected the video because of concerns over "rubbing pelvic region with pumpkin," a woman "screwing herself with broccoli," and more! Read NBC's complete list of concerns and enter to win your own veggie love!

Tier 1 Video Launches A Learning Channel

I created this blog for three reasons:
  1. Video is the craze these days. Video is now AND the future.
  2. I am an advocate of continuous learning.
  3. Video is the best way to learn.

I intend to blend those three together. Video learning is the best way to learn because it is simply a few mouse clicks away, available at your convenience, and usually can be accessed by your home computer, your laptop, or your PDA. Video learning is best because it incorporates sight, sound and usually reading. If necessary, you can pause the video to make notes or practice and then resume the video when ready. It's learning at a pace that is comfortable for the individual. You have better results if you learn when you want to learn and not when someone else is telling you when to learn.

I will have many categories of videos: soft skills, hard skills, technical, career, promotional, affiliate, humourous, family, and many others. I have found video lessons on many subjects and more are created every day. I will also try to incorporate webinars whenever possible. This will be a learning channel but also a fun environment.

I will launch a website soon by the same name. This blog will be ad-supported. I will accept advertising on a free basis until June 1st. I will post ad sizes and ad policies soon. If you are interested, you may email me at: ted@quiltjazz.com.
